A podcast is simply a program made available in digital format for automatic download over the Internet. What makes a podcast so great is that all of its content resides on one website called a host site.
When you subscribe to a podcast with a podcast app like Apple Podcasts or Spotify, the app goes to that RSS feed multiple times a day to see if there is anything new—and if there is something new, the app brings it back.
The podcast’s newest episodes can be downloaded automatically and you will receive a notification on your phone, computer, tablet, etc. You can also choose not to have automatic downloads and no notifications. It’s entirely up to you.
Currently, The Suzanne Venker Show is hosted on a website called Anchor. It looks like this:
However, most people don’t go the host site to access a podcast—they go to their phone’s Podcast app.
If you have an iPhone, your Podcast app should be purple—and when you click on it, at the bottom there are four options: Listen Now, Library, Browse, and Search.
Just hit search and type in The Suzanne Venker Show, and it should come right up. Then hit subscribe, and you’re all set!
The host page at Anchor contains code that tells your podcast app everything it needs to know to display The Suzanne Venker Show and all of its contents properly. What’s great is that any changes made on the host site will show up on all the hundreds of podcast directories around the world within a few hours. Isn’t that cool?
So that’s how you can find The Suzanne Venker Show on your phone. You could also head over to my website if you prefer. If you ever have any questions about the program (or podcasting in general), send Suzanne an email at suzanne@thesuzannevenkershow.com.
Happy listening, Everyone!
